Parish Churches
Eight wonderfully unique churches combine to make the Sole Bay Team Ministry.
Our parishes are situated on the eastern edge of the county, close to the sea, in an area of fields, woods, marshes, reed beds and ancient heaths, with a rich diversity of wildlife.
The communities we serve range from the town of Southwold and the adjacent community of Reydon to individual clusters of houses in the depths of the countryside. Many of our residents have retired here from other parts of the country, others have lived here all their lives. Tourism, fishing and farming are important sources of income and one of our major employers is Adnams Brewery in Southwold with their associated hotels and pubs.
Our church communities reflect a good cross-section of the rich diversity of traditions found in the Church of England. Styles of worship vary from traditional Book of Common Prayer services to informal family praise worship. Although we are on the edge of Suffolk we feel ourselves very much to be part of the life of our Diocese and the Church of England.
